Successful Deployment and Recovery of 50th ADCP

UK metocean survey contractor Partrac has been deploying ADCPs in support of the tidal and wave energy sector since 2008. The recent recovery of one unit from the Inner Sound of the Pentland Firth in the UK marks the 50th successful deployment and recovery completed by Partrac at tidal energy sites.

This milestone has been reached thanks to a dedicated marine team who have focused on every detail of acquiring ADCP data in such complex and dynamic regions. The team has worked tirelessly through every aspect of the projects, developing the equipment and methodology required that has led to such remarkable success. This has included designing equipment and deployment methodologies, working with experienced vessel teams, and developing the highest HSE standards to identify and manage the many risks to personnel and equipment.
