Teledyne Gavia completes initial AUV delivery to Sweden
Teledyne Gavia has successfully delivered the first four GAVIA AUV systems to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). The delivery was supported by a comprehensive service and support concept developed in close collaboration with FLIR Sweden. Teledyne Gavia is a global leader in modular autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs).
The newly delivered GAVIA Autonomous Underwater Vehicle systems form part of a multi-year framework agreement between Teledyne Marine and FMV. Under this agreement, GAVIA AUVs will support fleet modernization initiatives for the Swedish Armed Forces by strengthening underwater surveillance capabilities and improving operational efficiency.
Wide range of missions
The vehicles supplied under the agreement incorporate Teledyne’s proven modular architecture, allowing rapid reconfiguration for a wide range of missions, including mine countermeasures, hydrography, intelligence collection, seabed mapping and surveillance.
With the completion of this first delivery, Teledyne Gavia continues its collaboration with FMV, providing a versatile and reliable AUV platform aligned with Sweden’s evolving undersea operational requirements. The delivery supports FMV’s broader strategy to expand autonomous underwater capabilities within the Swedish Navy, and Teledyne Gavia looks ahead to supporting future Swedish undersea technology and defence initiatives.
Teledyne Marine is a leading provider of unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), with main production facilities in North Falmouth, Massachusetts, and Kópavogur, Iceland, supported by a global network of international service centres.
