Tether Systems for Subsea 7

Subsea 7 has purchased five Heavy Lift Tether Management Systems (TMS) from Perry Slingsby Systems (PSS) to interface with its latest fleet of Hercules ROV systems currently being built. PSS will provide Subsea 7 Ltd. with its latest design of high-performance, heavy lift capacity, TMS: the Enhanced Type III system. This features extended tether length capacity, as well as an intelligent control system. This provides proportionally controlled tether pay-in and pay-out modes, programmable automatic line speed/pull routines for optimised and safer ROV/TMS docking under unfavourable sub-sea heave conditions, and improved tether deployment path for increased tether life and reliability.
