Transas Onboard Systems

During Europort Maritime, held from 6 to 9 November 2007 in Rotterdam (The Netherlands), Transas launched a new generation of onboard systems. A big step forward is Transas Navi-Sailor ECDIS 4000, which facilitates the mariner to switch between type-approved ECDIS, Chart-Radar, conning display, chart assistant and SPOS weather module.

The data for presentation is flowing continuously in this application, informing the mariner on vital navigational information. The single systems are improved as well, reducing the workload on the bridge. Chart correction, route and user databases are synchronised for all workstations and applications; sensor redundancy and double networks ensure data integrity and reliability.

Transas Navi-Radar 4000/ Chart-Radar performs all functions of radar and ARPA and can overlay electronic charts and AIS targets on a radar picture. The system allows slingle click between chart displays, automatic chart loading and zooming whilst displaying current chart information. The application is compatible with ENC/S-57 and TX-97 chart formats.

Transas Navi-Conning 4000 is the new vector conning system intended to simplify the work of watch officers by providing valid information on the operation of ship systems. The displays can be customised in order to see the desired information and not only the information on the base screen views.

Transas VDR/S-VDR 3200 is compliant with IMO and IEC requirements. It is capable of grabbing information from two radars, ten sources of audio signal recording and floar-free capsules. The system is certified as ECDIS backup and can be used onboard SOLAS vessels to meet ECDIS back-up requirements.
