Valeport's Improved Sound Velocity Sensors Reach New Pitch

Valeport's innovative approach to oceanographic instrumentation has resulted in a series of incremental improvements to their world-leading Sound Velocity sensors. Customers with existing products can also benefit from the product improvements, with these upgrades being available upon request during routine service and calibration at Valeport.

The Sound Velocity sensors have had changes made to the timing system and signal processing algorithms which now enable unrivalled levels of accuracy at ±0.020m/s.  These products will also work in an operating range of 1375 to 1900m/s, covering all known environments including the Dead Sea and Marianas Trench.  In addition, the products now offer improved rapid profiling with data rates of up to 60Hz.  Peak to peak signal noise remains at just ±0.002m/s.
