Valeport's Upgraded SWiFT SVP Will Operate Down to 500 Metres
Valeport, a UK-based manufacturer of oceanographic and hydrographic instrumentation, has upgraded its SWiFT SVP. This sound speed profiler now provides enhanced versatility and deployment. An improved depth rating and increased pressure accuracy will become standard on the SWiFT profiler. Following customer feedback, Valeport has introduced this evolution of the SWiFT profiler which is designed with the intention of a seamless workflow at its core, and delivers high accuracy sound velocity, pressure, temperature, salinity and density measurement coupled with the convenience of Bluetooth connectivity, rechargeable battery and an integral GPS module to geo-locate each profile.
Increased Profiler’s Pressure Accuracy
The improved SWiFT will now operate down to 500m as standard (previous depth rating was 200m), whilst retaining all its popular switching on/off action, LED status indication and Bluetooth communication features. Valeport has also increased the profiler’s pressure accuracy from 0.5% to 0.01% fitting only one 50bar pressure transducer.
Constructed from Titanium for unrivalled durability and with a battery endurance of up to a week, the SWiFT SVP is intended for coastal, harbour and inland hydrographic survey use, and offers the highest quality sound velocity profiles in a compact, robust and portable package.
Valeport has supplied to the subsea sector since it was established in 1969. Now an independent, family-owned business, Valeport employs more than 90 people from their base in Devon, UK, and works with a global network of agents to ensure a worldwide service.
