Veripos Extends Northwest European Positioning Service

Veripos, a world leader for provision of high-precision GNSS positioning solutions for the offshore oil and gas industry, has extended the Northwest European sector of its global multi-source network with the establishment of new reference station facilities at Hammerfest in northern Norway.

The new station, part of Veripos’s worldwide network of over 80 similar reference facilities in support of dual-beam positional coverage via seven L-band satellites, has been introduced to meet growing exploration activities in both the Norwegian and Russian zones of the Barents Sea. Providing improved coverage of the overall area, it also ensures added redundancy for other Norwegian reference stations at Bodo, Kristiansund and Tananger.

Phil Henderson, Veripos Service Delivery Group manager, said that it marked a further stage in the continuing development of the company’s worldwide positioning capability in response to increasing demand for its services from leading seismic exploration as well as survey and construction support operators.

User guidance for adding the new Hammerfest station information to VERIPOS Verify station listings is located at the Knowledge Base section of its Online Support System (VOSS) at http://help.veripos.com.
