VIPS 2015 Update on VideoRay’s Developments

The VideoRay International Partner Symposium (VIPS) 2015 will be held from 16-18 September at the company’s headquarters in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA, just outside Philadelphia. In addition to attending VIPS ROV presentations, demonstrations and networking events, participants will have the opportunity to interact with the VideoRay team, see how the company operates and to see VideoRay's fifth-generation technology in action. The Mission Specialist concept ROVs will be presented: a new approach for creating small ROVs for specific purposes.

VIPS is an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) conference, composed with a focused combination of presentations from industry experts, hands-on training, technology insights and camaraderie with underwater robotics professionals from around the world. VIPS aims to welcome experienced ROV pilots, owners, prospective buyers and novices alike, offering unlimited opportunities to learn from seasoned ROV professionals.

Keynote on Costa Concordia

VideoRay has scheduled a keynote presentation by Phil Reed, one of the architects behind the Costa Concordia cruise ship wreck operation, who will offer a glimpse behind the scenes of the most complex salvage operation in maritime history. In his keynote address, Mr. Reed will discuss his experiences as salvage master of several notable shipwrecks, including the Costa Concordia.

VIPS will include in-water, hands-on ROV workshops at the local SCUBA park, Dutch Springs, which features numerous underwater attractions including a submerged 88-foot-long Sikorsky helicopter to explore with the ROV. All transportation is included in the registration including a ride back to Pottstown from Dutch Springs, and dinner on the historic Colebrookdale Railroad dating back to the 1800s.
