Washington College Takes RoxSwath
Sonavision Limited and International Industries Inc. have supplied a RoxSwath system to Washington College, Chestertown Maryland, USA. This system is a further development of the seabed classification system RoxAnn and, as the name suggests, enables the mapping of a swath of seabed reaching to almost twice the water depth. The purchase of the system follows the supply to Washington College of a RoxAnn Groundmaster in 2001, a seven-channel, shallow-water system used to identify underwater archaeological sites and map oyster beds in Chesapeake Bay. RoxAnn is now available in a number of formats specifically configured for hydrographic use, commercial fishing, dredging and environmental studies, with software to suit each use. Over seven hundred RoxAnn Systems have been sold on the professional marketplace.
