WatchMaster Contract

AXYS Technologies Inc. (ATI) has won a competitive contract from Consorcio Oceanográfico Geohidra – Incostas (CGI) for the supply of a WatchMaster oceanographic and meteorological data collection buoy. The ATI WatchMaster will be Venezuela’s most remote buoy station, being deployed to support Statoil’s exploration activities in 800m of water, more than 300km off the Venezuelan coast.
The ATI WatchMaster is a rugged, lightweight buoy with exceptional stationkeeping and a long life expectancy. The 2.5m diameter solar-powered WatchMaster is outfitted with a variety of water quality and meteorological sensors. Data from the sensors is collected by ATI’s WatchMan data acquisition system and transmitted to a shore station by Inmarsat C satellite telemetry. Program users will be able to access station data on a web site set up by CGI.
