Registration for Water Days Open – Featuring SDB Day 2022
The International Conference on Satellite-derived Bathymetry
Registration for SDB Day 2022, the international conference on satellite-derived bathymetry (SDB), is open. This time, SDB Day will be the opening event of Water Days, held from 4–6 October in Bavaria’s lake district south of Munich, Germany.
Speakers from various renowned organizations have confirmed their contributions, such as Seabed 2030, Fugro, NIWA New Zealand and Planet. Water Days, featuring SDB Day, will include keynote addresses, presentations, hands-on workshops and social events. EOMAP – technology and market leader in the field of SDB and main sponsor of the event – welcomes both users and providers to meet and exchange.
The Evolution of Satellite-derived Bathymetry
“With the new format ‘Water Days’, we wish to continue highlighting state-of-the-art technology and innovations of SDB, but also to build a bridge from coastal to inland water applications. The event will showcase new solutions that satellite-based information offers for all kinds of aquatic environments,” said Thomas Heege, CEO of EOMAP.
The first SDB Day took place in 2018 in Germany. With subsequent events in 2019 in Australia and two virtual conferences in 2021, it keeps offering a unique opportunity to discuss capabilities, quality standards, data integration and key requirements.
SDB has become an established survey technology in recent years. Users from industry, government and academia value this cost-effective method for multidisciplinary hydrographic seabed mapping projects, hydrodynamic modelling, reconnaissance surveys and environmental campaigns across the globe.
