WOC Business Forum Programme Available

The draft programme for the World Ocean Council Business Forum on Ocean Policy and Planning, to be held in New York, USA, from 29 to 30 September 2014, is now available. Early registration closes on Friday 1 August 2014 at 10 p.m. GMT. All ocean-related businesses are invited to participate in this timely forum to evaluate the industry implications of international ocean policy developments and national/regional marine planning efforts.

Topics that will be discussed during the forum: is industry informed and aware of the risks and opportunities involved in the ocean policy and planning developments that are moving rapidly forward? If not, how should the ocean business community engage on these? See the whole programme of the WOC Business Forum.

Representatives of oil and gas, shipping, seafood, fisheries, mining, aquaculture, renewable energy, ocean data, science and technology, maritime law, and other sectors will gather to address the need to be more informed and involved in policy and planning activities affecting ocean economic activity will gather to address these questions critical to the future of ocean economic activity.

Representatives from all ocean business sectors are invited to participate. In addition, WOC Members receive reduced registration rates. Early registration rates end 1 August 2014.

Representatives from the Non-Ocean Business Community who work with the private sector towards responsible and effective ocean policy and planning may also pre-register to participate, with notification of acceptance to be provided at a later date (Non-Ocean Business Community participation is limited to 20% of total attendance).
