ArcGIS Server 10 Geoportal Extension Speeds Data Discovery

Esri expands the power of geoportals with the release of the ArcGIS Server 10 Geoportal extension. The extension allows organisations to quickly set up websites, called geoportals that help them manage and share their geospatial information externally with the public or internally with employees. Geoportals manage resources by registering (storing and cataloging) the resources' metadata. ESRI has introduced its new Production Line Tool Set (PLTS) Nautical Charting Solution, which includes data loading, single-click editing, extraction and quality control production tools, as well as a product-specific geodatabase model. QPS Bundles Esri Technology

Quality Positioning Services (QPS, The Netherlands) has signed an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Esri, USA, to bundle its QINSy and Fledermaus products with Esri software and provide a complete hydrographic survey, data management and charting solution. Development of UCSB Ocean Use Application

The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), USA, has officially launched SeaSketch, an ocean planning tool supported by Esri, USA. US Army and ESRI to Develop New GIS Technology

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Hydrologic Engineering Center and ESRI will cooperate on developing a new generation of geographic information system (GIS) technology for hydrologic engineering and ecological analysis.
