Blueprint Subsea has introduced the new Oculus MD-Series – a range of 4,000m depth-rated single and dual-frequency multibeam imaging sonars. Built around the proven M-Series sonar dual-frequency technology, the Oculus MD-Series multibeam sonars provide exceptional image clarity throughout their field of vision. SUBSEA 20/20 Joins Forces with Blueprint Subsea

SUBSEA 20/20, USA, was recently named an authorised sales agency for Blueprint Subsea, a UK hydroacoustic instrument manufacturer. An agreement of representation was formalised at the recent Ocean Business conference in Southampton, UK. According to principal, Eric Munday, Blueprint Subsea products are consistent with SUBSEA 20/20’s model of representing the best available solutions for clients. He considers the Oculus imaging multibeam as very interesting as a fisheries assessment tool for the company's existing clients and believes that the diver navigation and tracking devices will open completely new market segments for SUBSEA 20/20.   (read more)

DOF Subsea in Subsea Expo Conference

DOF Subsea is joining a host of leading companies in sharing their knowledge and expertise during the Subsea Expo 2015 conference programme this week. Subsea RFID

At the UUVS show in Southampton (UK), CDL has demonstrated a concept for the electronic identification of valves and similar objects on the seabed. In large seafloor installations there can now be more than 1,000 individual valves, many of these are identical in size and shape and sometimes have to be manipulated in low visibility. The RFID demo system showed a subsea interrogation antenna moving on a track in seawater and passing over 3 subsea RFID tags. Century Subsea has taken delivery of a first, with an option for a second, Kongsberg Maritime Subsea HAIN, (Hydroacoustic Aided Inertial Navigation) for a 90-day project in the Gulf of Mexico for a major oil company. Subsea HAIN, developed from the HUGIN AUV navigation system, has now been used in several deepwater projects to enable increased accuracy of underwater positioning with minimal sub-sea hardware, thus significantly reducing sub-sea construction costs.
