Workshop on Vessels and Multi-beam Echo Sounders Over forty hydrographic professionals attended the workshop on Survey Vessels and Multi-beam Echo Sounders, which was held on 12 December 2012 in Delfzijl, the Netherlands. Preparing HYDRO 2010

The International Federation of Hydrographic Societies (IFHS) has entrusted the German Hydrographic Society (DHyG) with organising HYDRO 2010. The three-day conference and exhibition will take place in Rostock - Warnemünde (Germany) from 2-5 November 2010. With its prime location, directly on the beach of the Baltic Sea, the conference hotel "Yachthafenresidenz Hohe Düne" provides an ideal setting for hosting HYDRO 2010. German Meet French Hydrographers

After initial contacts between the Deutsche Hydrographische Gesellschafft (DHyG) and the French Association pour la Promotion de l'Hydrographie (APHY), the German Hydrographers were invited to present during the trainings day of the APHY. Holger Klindt accepted the invitation. The first contact between the two organisations was initiated during Intergeo 2009. An official delegation of the APHY visited the Intergeo 2010 in Köln. The APHY has a strong technical approach and emphasises the training and sharing knowledge and technical experience. Hydro 2016 Programme Finalised

Full programme details have been finalised for the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies’ 24th symposium and exhibition in Rostock-Warnemunde from 8-10 November 2016. It is expected to attract over 300 delegates from nearly 30 countries to the venue, the Yachthafenresidenz Hohe Dune Hotel overlooking the Baltic Sea. Greater Cooperation Between German and Benelux Societies

The Deutsche Hydrographischen Gesellschaft (DHyG) and the Hydrographic Society Benelux (HSB, The Netherlands/Belgium) are intensifying their cooperation. This will result in an improved exchange of experience and a coordination of workshops. The members of both societies will receive invitations for workshops organised in cooperation. In November last year, the German colleagues were invited for the HSB workshop ‘Sound Technologies' and later this year, a joint workshop at MARIN in Wageningen, The Netherlands, is to be scheduled. In 2013, a joint professional workshop in Papenburg will be added to the agendas. (read more)

Successful Workshop in Antwerp Harbour The workshop themed ‘Reference Frames and Geodesy in the North Sea’ attracted nearly 70 members of the Hydrographic Society Benelux who headed for the small town of Lillo near Antwerp, a historical green oasis surrounded by the industrial area of the harbours of Antwerp. Alain de Wulf managed to create a varied programme of presentations on Wednesday 6 February 2013.
