Surveyor Interceptor Sprints with Sonardyne SPRINT

MMT, Sweden, has successfully completed offshore integration trials of its new high-speed ROV with Sonardyne International’s SPRINT inertial navigation system. The 2,000m-rated Surveyor Interceptor has been developed by MMT to improve the speed and efficiency of seabed mapping and pipeline inspection surveys. Surveyor Interceptor’s revolutionary design features a hydrodynamic hull and powerful drivetrain enabling the vehicle to travel at up to six knots, around 50% faster than conventional work-class ROVs. The accuracy of SPRINT complements the vehicle’s imaging and mapping sensors, resulting in improved survey data quality and reduced ‘cost per kilometre’ of surveys. 10,000th Workhorse ADCP Delivered

Teledyne RD Instruments has recently reached two milestones. First, in 2007, the company celebrated its 25th year of business. Then, in January 2008, Teledyne RDI celebrated another significant milestone when Workhorse ADCP number 10,000 rolled off the company's assembly line. MicroROV Navigation Technology from Subsea Quartet

VideoRay and its partners have shipped the first implementation of VideoRay CoPilot by SeeByte software on a platform consisting of the VideoRay Pro 4 underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), BlueView P900 series imaging Sonar, and Teledyne RDI Explorer Doppler Velocity Log (DVL). The first release of the SeeByte solution on a VideoRay ROV follows several months of software and hardware development by VideoRay and SeeByte. AUV and ROV Play Important Role in Multinational EOD Exercise

Every autumn, Iceland hosts its annual Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) exercise called Northern Challenge, welcoming NATO members and partners supporting NATO‘s Defence Against Terrorism Programme. Northern Challenge is a multinational exercise, helping to train members of NATO‘s Partnership for Peace programme. This year, participants included Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States (including Army, Air Force and Navy) and other NATO members and partners. Explorer DVLs for LAUV System

Explorer Doppler Velocity Logs (DVLs). They have been successfully integrated on OceanScan-MST’s light autonomous underwater vehicle system (LAUV), which is an affordable and innovative one-man portable AUV that can be easily launched, operated and recovered with minimal setup. Teledyne RD Instruments, USA, has supplied Portugal-based underwater vehicle systems designer and manufacturer OceanScan-MST with five DVLs.
