Dredging is no longer a stand-alone exercise, but is rather becoming part of a broader, more integrated project realisation process. We are no longer in the era of "Dredging and nothing but dredging", we are in the century of "Dredging and beyond". Dredging Project in Xiamen

The dredging project of Haicang Bay is progressing smoothly and a mangrove park will be built upon its completion, according to the Construction Centre of Haicang Bay, Xiamen, China. The dredging project covers a sea area of 6.66 square kilometres, with Songyu Ferry Terminal in the south and Haicang Bridge in the north, Haicang Avenue in the west and Huoshaoyu Islet, Datu Islet, Xiaotu Islet and Dayu Islet in the east.   Currently, the daily quantity of dredging that has been dug out is about 10,000 cubic metres. CEDA Dredging Exhibition

The Central Dredging Association (CEDA) organises the CEDA Dredging Days on 5 and 6 November 2009 in the conference centre of Ahoy Rotterdam, in conjunction with Europort 2009. This year's theme is Dredging Tools for the Future. To complement the conference, a specialised dredging exhibition will be located in the area adjacent to the technical session room.     The exhibition is open during the conference. International IADC Dredging Seminar

More than 25 participants from around the world including Belgium, Canada, China, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Mauritius, Taiwan, the Netherlands, the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates came to Delft (the Netherlands) for the 36th IADC International Seminar on Dredging and Reclamation.   The seminar was organised by the International Association of Dredging Companies in co-operation with UNESCO-IHE from 20th to 24th June 2011. African Dredging Contracts

Royal Boskalis Westminster has been awarded three contracts on the African subcontinent with a total value of approximately EUR100 million. The largest contract was awarded in Nigeria by Saipem and involves dredging and equipment maintenance support work for an operational oil facility. Two other recently awarded projects located in Morocco and the Republic of the Congo are port-related. Boskalis has been awarded a contract by Saipem Contracting Nigeria Limited in the Olero Creek in Delta State, about 200 kilometres northwest of Port Harcourt. IADC International Dredging Seminar

From 15th to 19th June, 22 young professionals from Albania, Bahrain, Cameroon, China, Denmark, Gambia, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Senegal, Spain, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, UAE and Vietnam spent a week in The Netherlands learning about the intricacies and challenges of dredging and marine construction.     The 32nd IADC International Seminar on Dredging and Reclamation was organised by the International Association of Dredging Companies (IADC) in co-operation with UNESCO-IHE in Delft, The Netherlands. Middle East Dredging Projects

Van Oord has taken on a series of projects in the Middle East with an overall value of EUR130 million. In the United Arab Emirates Van Oord is executing dredging work in Ras al Khaimah as part of preparations for the 33rd America's Cup. This sailing competition will take place in Ras al Khaimah in 2010.
