Endeavour Professional & Navigator v5.3

HAS Systems Ltd has released new versions of the Endeavour ECS product range, consisting of Endeavour Navigator and Endeavour Navigator Professional. The latter caters for the commercial sector of the market. This version includes support for AIS (Automatic Identification System) data in accordance with international standard NMEA 0183 v 3.01. For the first time, both products now support parallel and USB dongles. Endeavour is traditionally installed on any off-the-shelf Windows NT/2000/XP PC or laptop. Transas Data to Be Supplied by Chartworld to SevenCs OEMs

Transas and SevenCs are announcing that they have signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement is based on the implementation of the Transas chart toolkit into the SevenCs EC2007 ECDIS Kernel Software. So SevenCs Kernel user will have full access to the complete Transas World database in TX 97 format in addition to the other already embedded data formats. The chart distribution will be carried out by ChartWorld, a SevenCs owned company, and by all Transas companies worldwide. Facts and Findings from the Accident
During Leg 2 of the Volvo Ocean Race from Cape Town to Abu Dhabi, Team Vestas Wind ran aground on the night of 29 November 2014 on the Cargados Carajos Shoals. The shoals were shown on the portion of the electronic chart displayed onboard, but only as a blue patch enclosed by a 200m isobath with scattered soundings - the shoalest of which the navigator reported to be 40m. Hydrographic Society Benelux Celebrates WHDA workshop on International Hydrographic Co-operation – supporting safe navigation emphasised the importance of the World Hydrography Day for the Hydrographic Society Benelux. Software Assists Updates to Paper Charts

Global Navigation Software, USA, has added features to NavPak Professional Edition - NavPak Graphic NTM and NavPak Graphic Light List, making it easy to update paper charts. These functions will read and plot Notices to Mariners (NTMs, NMs and LNMs) and Light Lists (LLs), providing worldwide chart updates. The LLs and NTMs have information that is not shown on the charts. For any given area, NTMs and LLs can be combined on the same NavPak Overlay.
