Fugro Survey Expands Geohazard Survey Vessel Fleet

Fugro will acquire the vessel KV Tromsø from Kystvaktskipet Tromsø of Norway. This vessel will be converted initially for acoustic pipeline inspection survey operations and will be ready for deployment in May 2007. It was built in 1997 and is currently serving as a Norwegian Coastguard vessel. This acquisition is part of Fugro’s ongoing policy to partly replace, modernise and expand its fleet of seabed survey vessels. Fugro Survey Near Krenitzin Islands

Fugro has been awarded a task order under its five-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to survey around the Aleutian chain’s Krenitzin Islands, Alaska in summer 2012. The survey, which will utilise multibeam echo sounder-based bathymetric data collection from a mothership and survey launches, is in support of NOAA’s National Ocean Service (NOS) Office of Coast Survey (OCS) to update nautical charts around Akun and Tigalda Islands. Commercial Manager for Fugro Survey

Fugro Survey announces that Peter Boon has joined the team as Commercial Manager. Peter Boon has previously worked for GeoCom, Nesa/Thales GeoSolutions and Noordhoek Offshore, where he contributed to the successful launch of the Noordhoek Survey department. Prime task for Peter will be to consolidate and (where possible) extend the market position of Fugro Survey in West Africa. Fugro Performs Large AUV Survey

A large AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) survey in the oil and gas industry forms a core element of two contracts awarded to Fugro that also include metocean measurements and geohazard consultancy services for Eni East Africa. The data is being captured for the Area 4 Rovuma basin development offshore northern Mozambique. Fugro Orders Geophysical Survey Vessel

Fugro has signed an agreement with ship designers and builders, Fr. Fassmer GMBH & Co. KG of Bremen (Germany), for the design and construction of a new geophysical survey vessel. Fugro Awarded MAREANO Survey Contract

Fugro OSAE, Germany, has been awarded a EUR2.3 million hydrographic survey contract by the Norwegian Hydrographic Service (NHS). The survey is part of the MAREANO project and will encompass an area of over 12,000 square kilometres in the Barents Sea.   The area is located 200km offshore in the northern-most part of Norway, near the Russian border, in water depths down to 300 metres. Fugro Awarded Processing Facility AUV Survey

Fugro Survey Pty Ltd (Australia) is shortly due to commence a deepwater AUV survey as part of the Woodside-operated Browse LNG Development. Fugro Secures Large Marine Survey Contract

INPEX Masela, Ltd. (INPEX), a subsidiary of INPEX CORPORATION, has awarded Fugro a large marine survey contract for the Abadi liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Indonesia. Fugro will perform geophysical and geotechnical surveys and the associated studies needed to support front-end engineering design (FEED) for offshore production facilities and the submarine pipeline to the onshore LNG terminal. Netherlands-based Fugro Gets NOAA Survey Contract

NOAA, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, has contracted with Netherlands-based Fugro to provide five years of hydrographic surveying services in the United States. The contract was issued by NOAA’s National Ocean Service, Office of Coast Survey, to support the creation and maintenance of highly accurate nautical charts.
