FSI’s Ships 3’’ CTD to Shirshov Oceanology Institute in Russia

FSI has recently shipped a 3” Micro CTD through its Russian representative, Technopole to Shirshov Oceanology Institute if Russian Academy of Science. The CTD will be deployed in the Baltic Sea up to 500 metres. The CTD was equipped with various sensors including an AMT Dissolved Oxygen sensor, AMT pH sensor, Seapoint Chlorophyll Fluorometer sensor and Seapoint OBS/Turbidity sensor. FIS’s 3” Micro CTD is a high-accuracy CTD with either direct digital output or 2MB datalogging capability. (read more)

Multi-beams and Single Beams for Royal Netherlands Navy

Simrad bv has been awarded a second contract by the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN) for delivery of 3 EM3002 dual-head high-resolution Multi-beam (MB) systems and 2 EA400 Single-beam (SB) 38/200-kHz echosounders. The MB and SB systems will be installed on the survey launches for assisting the two naval hydrographic survey vessels, which are already equipped with EM3000 dual-head MB and EA600 SB echosounders. The MB and SB systems will work with the third-party data acquisition software QINSy. Delivery and commission is planned for December 2005. (read more)

Variable-frequency Multibeam Echo Sounder

Teledyne Odom Hydrographic has launched the MB1 multibeam echo sounder. This 120° sonar operates on user-selectable frequencies from 170 kHz to 220 kHz. MB1 features phase and amplitude bottom detection, 24-bit water column backscatter data, sidescan, snippets, light weight titanium and acetal construction, optional integrated motion sensor and a GPS heading system.     By collaborating with Teledyne RDI's engineering team, Odom's platform can support all features required by today's multibeam users that are typically only found in expensive high-end systems. As a result of a successful week of on-water demonstrations to over 70 interested parties in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Teledyne Odom Hydrographic has sold and delivered the first MB1 multi-beam echo sounders to Brazil. Upgraded Multibeam for Waterway Surveys

Waterway Surveys and Engineering of Virginia Beach, VA, USA, has recently invested in an ODOM MB-1 upgrade to the ES-3 Shallow Water Multibeam Echo Sounder. Multibeam Echosounder for North Carolina University

Seafloor Systems, USA, has delivered a Hydrolite-MB portable turnkey multibeam echo sounder system to the NC State University Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering. The Hydrolite-MB incorporates a multibeam echo sounder and ancillary devices on a portable, pre-calibrated pole mount system.
