RIEGL Presents BathyCopter at Intergeo 2015

On the first day of Intergeo, RIEGL, Austria, showcased its latest development in UAS-based laser scanning: the RIEGL BathyCopter. This is a small-UAV-based surveying system capable of measuring through the water surface, ideally suited for generating profiles of rivers or water reservoirs. The robust and reliable platform design integrates the topo-bathymetric green laser depth-meter, an IMU/GNSS unit with antenna, a control unit and a digital camera. German Meet French Hydrographers

After initial contacts between the Deutsche Hydrographische Gesellschafft (DHyG) and the French Association pour la Promotion de l'Hydrographie (APHY), the German Hydrographers were invited to present during the trainings day of the APHY. Holger Klindt accepted the invitation.   The first contact between the two organisations was initiated during Intergeo 2009. Trimble VRS Now Service to Be Launched in Germany

Trimble will launch its Trimble VRS Now service for Germany in December. The commercial subscription service will provide surveyors, civil engineers and geospatial professionals with instant access to Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) corrections without the need for a base station. Using GNSS reference station data from SAPOS, the SAtellite POSitioning Service of the German State Survey, the Trimble service will deliver centimeter-level RTK positioning customised for each GNSS receiver's exact location anywhere in the network. RTK Positioning Accuracy Maintained during Outages for up to 20 Minutes

During Intergeo, NovAtel introduced its RTK ASSIST service, a subscription-based service that provides users with satellite-delivered correction data to seamlessly continue centimetre-level accuracy during Real Time Kinematic (RTK) correction outages caused by communication disruptions. Users are able to maintain RTK-level performance for up to 20 minutes, reducing any associated downtime and optimising solution productivity. RTK is a method of achieving cm-level accuracy with GNSS. However, if the RTK correction data link to the receiver is interrupted, performance degrades quickly. Altus Positioning Systems, Germany, has introduced the APS-3L high-precision GNSS receiver. The APS-3L is the first GNSS survey receiver on the market with embedded L-band capability to work with the Veripos TERRASTAR-D differential correction service.
