SBG Releases Navsight Marine Solution

At this year’s Oceanology International in London, UK, SBG Systems released the Navsight Marine Solution, a full high-performance inertial navigation solution designed to make surveyors’ tasks easier in both shallow and deep water. Navsight Marine Solution integrates the latest generation of gyroscopes, accelerometers and GNSS receivers. Navsight provides high-performance motion and navigation data as well as a real-time heave accurate to 5cm. To allow surveying when wave frequencies are large or complex, the solution comes with a delayed heave feature. Shallow Inland Water Bathymetry Meets IHO S-44 Special Order

For many years, the GeoSwath system from Kongsberg GeoAcoustics has been providing an efficient simultaneous swath bathymetry and sidescan seabed mapping solution with accuracies that meet the IHO S-44 Special Order standard for hydrographic surveys. Kongsberg K-MATE Autonomy Controller for New USV-AUV Platform

K-MATE, an autonomous surface vehicle control system which is the latest marine robotics innovation from KONGSBERG, is to be integrated with SEA-KIT, a new class of maritime autonomous surface vessel being built by UK manufacturer, Hushcraft, and operated by SEA-KIT International. SEA-KIT can carry a deployable and retrievable payload of up to 2.5 tons. Inertial Labs to Supply STR with Motion Reference Systems

Kongsberg Integrated Delivery for Angolan Research Vessel

Kongsberg Maritime has been awarded a contract by Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding of Vlissingen, The Netherlands to provide an integrated technology solution for a new 74 metre Fishery Research Vessel (FRV), which will be built at Damen Shipyards Galati, Romania. The vessel is planned to be delivered to the owner, the Angolan Ministry of Fisheries, in July 2018. Multi-phase Echosounder Added to STR’s Rental Inventory

Subsea Technology and Rentals Ltd (STR) has increased its portfolio of rental equipment with the acquisition of EdgeTech’s 6205, a swath bathymetry and dual frequency sidescan sonar system which utilises next-generation bathymetric technology. The EdgeTech 6205, a multi-phase echosounder (MPES) produces real-time, high-resolution, three-dimensional (3D) maps of the seafloor while providing co-registered simultaneous dual frequency sidescan imagery. The Indonesian Association of Marine Survey Contractors launched a survey operation in early January 2015 to support the Indonesian National Agency for Search and Rescue. The operation was aimed at searching for a commercial plane, Air Asia QZ8501, reported missing on 28 December 2014 over the NW of the Java Sea, Indonesia.
