Collaboration Leads to Magnetometer Solution

Cooperation between HYPACK and Marine Magnetics, USA, has resulted in a complete solution for magnetometer surveys. The solution comes in the form of an updated interface for magnetometer data collection and the release of HYPACK’s new MAGEDIT program, developed with SHOM’s specifications and collaboration. Following the purchase of a fleet of magnetometers by SHOM (French Hydrographic Department), Marine Magnetics and HYPACK, Inc. worked together to provide a solution to better acquire and process the magnetometer data. Ixsea Oceano has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification by BVQI (Bureau Veritas Quality International). The certification includes engineering, sale, manufacturing and support for all Ixsea Oceano product lines (inertial navigation systems, gyrocompasses, acoustic releases, magnetometers, acoustic positioning systems) at their main plants in Brest and Marly- le-Roi. Super Sensitive Detector for Finding Shipwrecks

JW Fishers has released two state-of-the-art magnetometers, the Proton 4 boat-towed model and the Diver Mag 1, a hand-held unit carried by a diver. Both magnetometers have visual and audio readouts. The Proton 4 features an easy-to-read LCD display that is backlit for night operations and an audio alarm to alert the operator when a target is encountered.
