Norbit Launches New MBS

Norwegian-based multibeam echosounders manufacturer Norbit launches the Winghead. The Winghead is a true 1024 beams multibeam echo sounder, with the iconic NORBIT curved arrays, a frequency agility from 200kHz to 700kHz and a resolution of 0.5 x 0.9 degrees at the center frequency of 400kHz. TSS International Ltd Appoints New US Manager

TSS International Ltd has appointed Ted Curley as its sales manager for the North Eastern United States. Seabed has secured orders from Jan De Nul Group, Belgium, for several tightly integrated all-in-one turnkey Norbit multibeam sonar systems. These compact survey systems allow for fast set-to-work on any sized survey platform while allowing for highest quality broadband FM data from a forgiving curved receiver array. The systems each include a full inertial navigation system and surface sound speed probe. Only one cable from wet end to the small splash-proof topside is required. NORBIT Multibeam System for Emma Rentals

Peter Eriksen of NORBIT delivered a NORBIT iWBMS system for Emma Rentals during Oceanology International 2016. The iWBMS is the tightest-integrated high-end multibeam echosounder with built-in GNSS/INS. Several jobs have already been contracted by Emma Rentals, both for inland waterways and off the Baltic coast. The NORBIT iWBMS system including the Applanix Wavemaster 2 OEM GNSS/INS will also serve as an important asset for Emma Technologies' research activities within the field of advanced backscatter processing. Echoboat-RCV Integration with Norbit iWBMSc

Seafloor Systems has successfully integrated and tested the Norbit iWBMSc (Integrated Wideband Multibeam Sonar, Compact) echosounder system with the EchoBoat-RCV remotely controlled survey vehicle. In addition to its ultra-compact form factor, the Norbit system features an integrated INS and sound velocity sensors, thus eliminating the need to install separate devices while greatly reducing calibration and offset measurements. Forth Ports to Use NORBIT Multibeam Echosounder

NORBIT has supplied Forth Ports, one of the UK’s largest port groups, with multibeam survey capability for the River Forth and the River Tay. The NORBIT iWBMSh is in place with QPS QINSy and Qimera software, along with associated sensors and training with an investment by the port business exceeding GBP250,000.
