Subsea UK is hosting a breakfast briefing during OTC in Houston to demonstrate the significant value of innovative technology in improving efficiency and reducing costs in subsea operations. Offshore Business Director

IXSEA has appointed Richard Parkinson as Offshore Business Director. Parkinson, an Oceanographer and Surveyor, was the founder, Managing Director and major share holder of UTEC Services Ltd, a start-up offshore survey company set up in 2003.   After attracting investment in UTEC's survey services from a Houston based investment group, which allowed the company to expand, he became Sales and Marketing Director of UTEC Survey Ltd and now brings extensive experience in the offshore industry to IXSEA.     (read more)

Positioneering Offshore Market Entry

Positioneering, a provider of global GNSS-based precise-positioning services to enter the offshore market, has appointed Ewan Brown to the role of Global Resources Manager. Offshore Survey Frame Agreement

MMT (Sweden) hase been awarded a Frame Agreement for offshore survey services with Statoil. The Frame Agreement consists of survey services such as pipeline surveys, seabed mapping surveys, inspections, geotechnical survey support and environmental survey support that will be conducted and provided worldwide. This is a four-year-long contract with an option of an additional two years.     MMT will operate an ROV, ROTV, tow fish and vessel-based survey sensors under this Frame Agreement. Standards in Offshore Survey

The offshore industry has a range of standards in common use. As survey contractors/subcontractors, how far should we aim for standardisation in the work we do and how much scope should we leave for differentiation between ourselves? Offshore AIS Network Complete

Norcontrol IT has supplied Petroleos Mexicanos Exploration (PEMEX) with a large offshore AIS network. Whilst AIS is generally considered a tool for port and coastal applications, the offshore industry can benefit from the extra data it offers. The project is located in the Bay of Campeche in the Gulf of Mexico and spans some 150 platforms throughout the entire area. Norcontrol IT has installed eight AIS base stations supplied by Kongsberg Seatex, a subsidiary of Kongsberg maritime. Noordhoek Offshore Expands

Noordhoek was founded in 1933 as a shipping company. Since the very beginning of the giant Delta project in The Netherlands in 1959 Noordhoek changed its working activities to become an underwater contractor. Offshore Wind Power Forum

The Offshore Wind Power Forum, to be held in Philadelphia during 2–3 February 2010, is the only event which will bring together all stakeholders in offshore wind to discuss and debate how these nascent projects in North America can catch up with the success of onshore wind.
