Offshore Business Director

IXSEA has appointed Richard Parkinson as Offshore Business Director. Parkinson, an Oceanographer and Surveyor, was the founder, Managing Director and major share holder of UTEC Services Ltd, a start-up offshore survey company set up in 2003.   After attracting investment in UTEC's survey services from a Houston based investment group, which allowed the company to expand, he became Sales and Marketing Director of UTEC Survey Ltd and now brings extensive experience in the offshore industry to IXSEA.     (read more)

Five-year Offshore Contract

G.O.S.S. (North Sea) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of G.O.S.S. Consultants Ltd, UK, has been successful in securing a contract from Shell for the Provision of Geophysical, Geotechnical and Survey Representatives. The contract will commence on 1 February 2013 and run for five years. The agreement will involve the supply of personnel to Shell Upstream Europe business entities Shell U.K. Limited, Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij B.V, Shell E&P Ireland Limited and A/S Norske Shell. Deepwater Offshore Wind Turbine

The Engineering Business (EB) has celebrated the succesfull installation of the second deepwater offshore wind turbine. EB's BOWTIS - Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Turbine Installation System - was used by Talisman Energy (UK) Limited in the Moray Firth in Scotland. Trident Offshore Positioning Contract

Trident Offshore have commissioned Veripos to provide a full range of precision GNSS positioning services and associated support under an exclusive five-year global contract. The agreement calls for Veripos to provide its complete range of proprietary satellite positioning services extending from its Standard GNSS augmentation service to its Ultra decimetre-accuracy Precise Point Positioning (PPP) capability.   Additionally, Veripos will also provide its range of LD2 and LD3 integrated GNSS receiver and demodulator mobile units together with user-configurable Verify-QC software packages for real-time assessment and post-processing of data as well as support of both single and multi-reference station calculations.     (read more)
