Recognising the specialised nature of offshore, in-shore, estuary and rivers products and services, SEA (Group) Ltd has brought together its civil maritime activities into a new Offshore Division. Offshore Europe 2003

The Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre, Scotland, UK will provide a venue for the international offshore oil and gas industry to attend Offshore Europe 2003, from 2nd to 5th September 2003, with more than 24,500 visitors expected from 72 countries and over 1,600 exhibiting companies. The Offshore Europe 2003 show has seen a landmark change in perception and significant increases in overseas visitors. BP, Shell UK Exploration and Production and Total are among the exhibiting operators. The AECC venue last moth opened a US$ 27 million development. (read more)

Offshore Wind Power Forum

The Offshore Wind Power Forum, to be held in Philadelphia during 2–3 February 2010, is the only event which will bring together all stakeholders in offshore wind to discuss and debate how these nascent projects in North America can catch up with the success of onshore wind. Global offshore wind capacity has now reached 1.5GW, with another 1.5GW under construction. Fugro Acquires Bluestone Offshore

Fugro has reached agreement with Reef Subsea AS to acquire Bluestone Offshore Pte Ltd and its subsidiaries.   Bluestone Offshore is a specialist provider of geotechnical services in Southeast Asia and Australia and currently operates one chartered DP deepwater geotechnical vessel in the region. The staff of approximately 40 also provides laboratory and engineering services in their office in Singapore. The office will be consolidated into Fugro’s existing operations in Singapore.   Revenues for Bluestone Offshore for 2010 were in the order of USD 20 million.     (read more)

Offshore AIS Network Complete

Norcontrol IT has supplied Petroleos Mexicanos Exploration (PEMEX) with a large offshore AIS network. Whilst AIS is generally considered a tool for port and coastal applications, the offshore industry can benefit from the extra data it offers. The project is located in the Bay of Campeche in the Gulf of Mexico and spans some 150 platforms throughout the entire area. Norcontrol IT has installed eight AIS base stations supplied by Kongsberg Seatex, a subsidiary of Kongsberg maritime. Deepwater Offshore Wind Turbine

The Engineering Business (EB) has celebrated the succesfull installation of the second deepwater offshore wind turbine. EB's BOWTIS - Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Turbine Installation System - was used by Talisman Energy (UK) Limited in the Moray Firth in Scotland. Trident Offshore Positioning Contract

Trident Offshore have commissioned Veripos to provide a full range of precision GNSS positioning services and associated support under an exclusive five-year global contract. The agreement calls for Veripos to provide its complete range of proprietary satellite positioning services extending from its Standard GNSS augmentation service to its Ultra decimetre-accuracy Precise Point Positioning (PPP) capability.   Additionally, Veripos will also provide its range of LD2 and LD3 integrated GNSS receiver and demodulator mobile units together with user-configurable Verify-QC software packages for real-time assessment and post-processing of data as well as support of both single and multi-reference station calculations.     (read more)
