Six months before the inaugural Oceanology International (OI) China 2013 opens at INTEX in Shanghai (from 3 to 5 September 2013), online registration is open. Attendance of the exhibition is at no charge to anyone with a business-related or professional interest in ocean science and marine technology in all its forms. OI China Pre-registration Open

The second edition of Oceanology International China (OI China) will take place from 3 to 5 September 2014 at the Shanghai International Exhibition Centre (INTEX). Visitor pre-registration has officially begun in the 'Visitor Registration' zone of the event website. Pre-registered visitors will be able to use the Green Channel to enter the venue without queuing, and will have priority in participating in the OI China 2014 conference forums. WODCON XX Registration Now Open

The registration for World Dredging Congress XX (WODCON XX), to be held in the Square-Brussels Meeting Centre, Brussels, Belgium, from 3 to 7 June 2013 is now open via the event website. Registration is now possible for Oceanology International 2012, to be held in the ExCeL Centre in the, London Docklands , from 13th to 15th March 2012. Europe Collaborates to Coordinate Open Ocean Observatories

European scientists are joining forces to better understand oceanic change, by coordinating ocean data acquisition, analysis and response on scales ranging from the provincial to the global. Marking a major milestone, the first Assembly of Members meeting of the European Multidisciplinary Seafloor and water-column Observatory (EMSO) was scheduled from 28-29 September 2016 in Rome, Italy. Esri Geoportal Extension to Become Open Source

The Geoportal Extension is to become a Free and Open Source solution from Esri. Open-source Backseat Driver Software Demonstrated

Bluefin Robotics and the Laboratory for Autonomous Marine Sensing Systems (LAMSS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, USA) recently installed and demonstrated MOOS-IvP on a two-man portable Bluefin-9 AUV. Once in the field, the system was able to transmit wavelet-compressed side-scan sonar images via an acoustic modem and display them on the topside command and control console.     The MOOS-IvP autonomy system is a set of third-party, open-source C++ modules that provide autonomy for robotic platforms.
