New Version dKart Office

HydroService AS has released newly developed post-processing software, dKart Hydrographer 2.1. This tool extends the dKart Office suite of tools that already includes software for synchronised production and maintenance of all nautical chart products, S-57/ENC and paper-based. The new system provides advanced functionality for processing single and multi-beam survey data, solving all the necessary hydrographic tasks (errors detection and elimination, data thinning, 3D sea-bottom modelling, depth contours generation, manual data editing, and S-57 ENC creation out of processed/raw data, etc.). USGS Upgrades to SWATHplus

The US Geological Survey Center for Coastal and Marine Geology, located at Woods Hole, Massachusetts has recently taken delivery of a SEA SWATHplus, upgrade to the Submetrix 2000 system purchased in 2000. The centre will be using the SWATHplus for near-shore mapping and identification of seabed geo-morphology. The SWATHplus electronics package is augmented with a much improved software suite that gives easier real-time control and processing, along with enhanced QC tools and 3D visualisation. (read more)

Cargo Monitoring System for Airbus Transport

i2e Diffusion, previously called BEN MARINE, has been a contract for the supply of a new Cargo Monitoring system called SAFENAV III, for a RORO ship 5,200DWT built in Jinling shipyard China. Hull N¡ JLZ020401. This RORO is owned by Dreyfus and will be carrying parts of the new A380 Airbus plane. Echosounders for US Navy

Knudsen Engineering Ltd has received a volume order from the US Naval Oceanographic Office at the Stennis Space Centre (Mississippi) for eight 320BR deepwater echosounders, plus spares kits. These instruments are two-channel (3.5/12kHz), rack-mounted, high-power systems used for full-ocean depth survey. Using a Windows interface data display, the system incorporate chirp and correlation processing to achieve low noise and high-resolution sub-bottom profiles. (read more)

New Multibeam System

Atlas Fansweep Coastal, the first of a new series of advanced Atlas Fansweep 30 multi-beam echosounders designed to exceed IHO standards over depths in excess of 600m, has been introduced by Atlas Hydrographic. Developed for both hydrographic survey and oceanographic research applications covering waterways and coastal regions extending to continental shelf boundaries, the system features enhanced levels of data quality to reduce general post-processing requirements. Romona Contracts C & C Technologies

C & C Technologies (Asia-Pacific) Pte Ltd in Singapore recently signed a long term contract to supply Romona with C-Nav equipment and correction signals. C & C will deliver C-Nav equipment to Romona's offices in Sakhalin, Vietnam, Thailand and the Middle East to support their international operations. COVELIA has been developed to provide Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) and ROV navigation systems with a highly accurate speed-over-ground velocity measurement. This instrument is designed to replace conventional Doppler velocity logs, which can be particularly inaccurate at the low speeds which AUVs operate. Triton Elics International Announces Processing Suite for Benthos C3D

Triton Elics International yesterday launched C3Dsuite, a software package for collecting and processing sidescan and bathymetry data from the Benthos C3D Sonar Imaging System. The sonar can simultaneously collect co-registered bathymetry and side scan sonar with a single system. The C3D suite has acquisition and processing capabilities tuned especially for the C3D.
