Bathymetric Survey of Cebu Harbor

EGS (Asia) Ltd. has completed a detailed bathymetric survey in Cebu, the Philippines, on behalf of Cebu Port Authority (CPA). Work was completed over a 30 day period, starting on 25 January 2004. Indonesia Buys Triton Elics HydroSuite

Triton Elics International (TEI) announced that a TEI HydroSuite was installed aboard the Cinta Laut, a survey vessel managed by Departemen Kelautan dan Perikanan (DKP), the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries for Indonesia. The TEI Hydrosuite provides DKP with a single point source for all hardware, software, and support for multibeam acquisition and processing of SM2000 multibeam data. The TEI suite of software includes IsisBathy, TargetPro, BathyRT, BathyPro, DelphMap, and DelphNav. Mr. Harold Orlinsky, TEI VP of Hydrographic Systems, assisted the DKP with final system configurations and provided hands-on training to all scientists and technicians associated with the project. Transas equips Brazilian Navy training vessel

Transas has successfully installed the Navi-Sailor 3000 ECS onboard the Brazilian Navy’s 3,168 tons training vessel ‘U-27 BRASIL’. The Navi-Sailor 3000 ECS, a Transas Marine electronic chart navigational system, will be used to support navigational activities. The equipment set onboard also comprises World Folio ZR00, worldwide chart coverage, providing the vessel with access to more than 10,000 vector charts with ports indicated worldwide. RESON SeaBat 8101 Announcements

The Bristol Port Company has completed the installation of a RESON SeaBat 8101 Multibeam Echosounder system on their survey vessel SV Isambard Brunel. The system comprises a TSS MAHRS; RESON Data Acquisition and Processing system; along with acoustic seabed classification software to be used with the multibeam data. The SeaBat 8101 is providing The Bristol Port Company with daily hydrographic bathymetry charting data, meeting the demanding standards set out by the IHO. NEXTMap USA Coastal Data

Intermap Technologies in conjunction with Aero-Metric have received a subscription contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for Intermap NEXTMap USA coastal data for a NOAA Coastal Services Center (NOAA CSC) managed programme. Under the contract Intermap will provide NOAA with imagery and elevation map data for regions in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. This is the first phase of a planned multi-year programme anticipated to include the purchase of similar data for the entire coastline of the continental United States. Versatile Electronics Package

Kongsberg Maritime has signed a contract with Norwegian shipyard Flekkefjord Slipp & Maskinfabrikk to supply equipment and services for a new research vessel currently in production for the British organisation Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). In many ways the new vessel is similar to the modern, well-equipped G.O. Sars owned by The Institute of Marine Research in Bergen, Norway and built by Flekkefjord Slipp & Maskinfabrikk in 2002/2003 with almost the same equipment as that featured in the new contract.
