UKHO Signs Agreement With Chinese MSA

The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) has signed a new Bilateral Agreement with the Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) of The People's Republic of China. This arrangement between the UKHO and China MSA refers to the distribution of ENC cells produced by China MSA through the UKHO's Admiralty Vector Chart Service (AVCS).     The UKHO and China MSA are both members of the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) and this latest agreement further extends what has historically been a productive and mutually respectful working relationship for paper and raster chart data.   Both organisations share a combined focus on improving the... Nationwide Sea-level Rise Flooding Tool Launched in Denmark

At a flooding conference held in the Danish Parliament on 3rd February 2012, the Danish Minister for the Environment launched a nationwide online interactive tool to map the risk of flooding in Denmark due to rising sea-levels. The tool is based on a SCALGO computation performed on a very accurate, 1.6-metre resolution raster terrain model for the entire country. The UKHO has announced a significant increase in the number of Admiralty Charts available as part of the highly popular ARCS series. ARCS (Admiralty Raster Chart Service) charts are digital copies of the globally renowned Admiralty paper charts and are presented, along with weekly updates, on CD-Rom.
