New Oil-in-Water Sensor

Applied Microsystems announces the availability of Leak-Sentry, our new oil-in-water sensor. Leak-Sentry is deployed underwater and uses fluorometry to detect emulsified or dissolved hydrocarbons. Unlike other fluorometers, Leak-Sentry is equipped with the necessary intelligence to rapidly characterise background hydrocarbon levels and alarm upon detection of incremental leaks or spills. Detection signals are communicated to a process control system, to a data-logger, or to any PC running Applied Microsystems' Spill-View software. Leak-Sentry is ideal for integration onto oceanographic buoys for long-term environmental monitoring. YSI Environmental has developed a multiparameter instrument Ðthe YSI ADV6600- that accurately and reliably measures both water quantity (velocity and direction) and water quality. It has accomplished this by integrating YSI water quality sensor technologies with the advanced Acousic Doppler Velocimeter (ADV) technology of SonTek. New Space for Sensor Technology

Sensor Technology has opened a new manufacturing facility. The building, purchased in January of 2011 and located immediately adjacent to SensorTech’s previous two building campus, adds a third building to the company’s operations and increases total workspace by twenty-five percent.     The majority of the square footage in the new building has been allocated to Sensor Technology’s piezoelectric powder production, increasing the space for this cornerstone operation by forty percent. Triaxis Next Wave Sensor Update

The TRIAXYS Directional Wave Sensor was originally developed by AXYS Technologies Inc. in conjunction with the Canadian National Research Council (NRC) in 1998. Applied Microsystems (AML) announces the launch of SV-Xchange - the world's only exchangeable, field-swappable sound velocity sensor. Turner Designs has introduced a turbidity sensor addressing this issue with a simple solution. Turbidity Plus is an accurate single-channel turbidity sensor including an integrated wiper which is triggered by the user.
