The Norwegian government recently announced comprehensive measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus, effective immediately. As a result, all travellers to Norway from non-Nordic countries who do not have a residence permit will most likely have to immediately leave the country again or be placed in quarantine for 14 days. In response, and due to the highly dynamic development of the coronavirus pandemic, the MOSAiC project management has decided to temporarily suspend the aerial survey campaigns planned for this spring and based in the Svalbard archipelago, which is under Norwegian administration. UTEC Completes Survey Subcontract for McDermott in the Middle East

UTEC, a global surveying company in the Acteon subsea services group, completed consecutive as-built and post-construction anchor debris clearance surveys using remotely operated vehicles (ROV) for McDermott International. The company mobilized a DP2 offshore support vessel in early December 2019 with work- and observation-class ROVs and a nearshore survey workboat for the as-built campaign. The anchor debris clearance campaign used the same vessel with a sub-bottom profiler, a side-scan sonar, a multibeam echosounder and a magnetometer. Fugro Awarded Aker Energy Contract for Pecan field Surveys Offshore Ghana

Aker Energy has awarded Fugro a contract for geotechnical and geophysical survey services in relation to the Pecan field, offshore Ghana. NOAA to Map Mariana Seas in April Next Year

In April next year, a team of 60 scientists and crew from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will come to the Mariana Islands aboard the NOAA ship Rainier to map the seafloor of the Marianas and do coral reef research. Inspection and 3D Modelling Project at Galloper Offshore Windfarm Completed

Subsea technology specialist Rovco has completed an extensive ROV inspection contract. This circa £1 million contract has resulted in the completion of the baseline asset integrity survey at the newly constructed Galloper Offshore Wind Farm, a 353MW installed capacity wind farm which lies 30km off the coast of Suffolk, UK. The project, which was awarded by Innogy Renewables UK, began in September - with 24-hour ROV operations provided over a four-week period.
