At the Oceanology International exhibition and conference in London, UK, Hemisphere GPS has announced the introduction of its Vector V103 GPS compass and Vector V113 GPS compass, both designed for professional, commercial marine and machine control applications. Powered by Hemisphere GPS’ Crescent Vector II technology, the new Vector V103 and V113 provide precise heading and positioning performance including heave, pitch, and roll with the option of either NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 communications. Global Digital Vector Chart Service

The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) has launched the Admiralty Vector Chart Service (AVCS). AVCS will provide the international mariner with an integrated global set of Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs) schemed in folios along the major shipping routes and covering the world's top ports, with ordering, flexible licensing and updating services.   The service overcomes the present requirement to carry, maintain and use a mix of ENC, Raster and paper charts drawn from multiple sources. Hemisphere GNSS Vector V104 GPS Compass

Hemisphere GNSS, USA, has added the Vector V104 to its innovative precise heading and positioning product line. According to the California-based company, this is the world’s smallest high-accuracy, dual-receiver GPS compass. Dole: from ARCS to Vector Charts

Reefership Marine Services, Dole Food in-house vessel management group, was responsible for the installation of C-MAP charts on Polish-built reefer vessels in 1994. The contract with C-MAP was terminated at the end of 2002 due to the fact that it was understood that the British Admiralty raster charts, ARCS, were legally accepted as an aid for navigation. Admiralty Vector Chart Service Moves to S-63

The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) has announced details of its forthcoming upgrade of the ADMIRALTY Vector Chart Service (AVCS) CD Service to S-63 Edition 1.1, the latest international open-format security standard for digital chart data.
