Atlas Services Group Expands Survey Department

Atlas Services Group (UK) has announced the appointment of Darioosh Naderi as account manager and technical consultant in the Survey Department of Atlas Services Group. Immediately prior to joining Atlas Services Group, he worked at Sonardyne International Ltd as senior surveyor providing survey consultancy, customer training and project management where he also had key involvement in Fusion LBL testing, designing and specification. Teledyne RESON Acquires Business From ATLAS HYDROGRAPHIC

Teledyne RESON A/S from Denmark has announced that its German subsidiary, Teledyne RESON GmbH, has acquired assets of ATLAS HYDROGRAPHIC, Germany, and that the business, product lines and a number of employees from ATLAS HYDROGRAPHIC GmbH are now part of the Teledyne Marine Acoustics Imaging group. ATLAS HYDROGRAPHIC specialises in high-performance deep-water hydrographic survey solutions for the civil market. International Coastal Atlas Network (ICAN) Report Published

The final report of the ICAN 5 Workshop, held in Ostend, Belgium, in September 2011 is now available for download. ICAN is a network of more than 40 organisations from around the globe at local, regional, national or trans-national level (Africa and Caribbean) who have developed coastal and marine atlases which are used in a variety of ways. ICAN is always looking for new members and is open for inquiries from any organisations interested in either developing a coastal atlas for their region or sharing an atlas that they have already created. Oceanographic Atlas of the Black Sea

The State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine has issued an Oceanographic Atlas of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, aimed at improving informational support for marine economic activities and scientific research in this region.     The Atlas is bilingual (all legends and explanatory notes are in English and Ukrainian). Atlas to Open Office in Lowestoft

In May 2015 UKPS Offshore, focusing on high-quality ROV personnel, decided to close its doors for good. The remaining contractors were left to look for alternative agencies and the staff had to find new jobs. At the time of the closure, Atlas Professionals director Andrew Blears approached two of UKPS’s staff, team leader Tonia Weldon and personnel coordinator Rosie Parr. GMGS Buys Atlas Parasound Sub-bottom Profiler

Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey (GMGS) in China has awarded Atlas Hydrographic a contract to supply an Atlas Parasound hull-mounted sub-bottom profiler with full ocean depth range capability for its vessel Fen Dou 5. Delivery of the system is scheduled for February 2014. The system configuration consists of Atlas Parasound electronics, a pair of small-sized transducers, a transducer casing, Atlas Hydromap Control software for sensor steering and control, and Atlas Parastore software for data acquisition, storage and visualisation.
