Atlas Hydrographic in Bremen has received a major series of orders for proprietary DESO high-precision vertical echosounders from leading port authorities in France, Germany, Morocco and Poland. The commissionings include remote-controllable DESO 25 systems for Bremen Ports Authority in Germany and the Port of Szczecin in Poland while in France, further units are to be delivered to the Ports of de La Rochelle and Nantes respectively. Featuring two active sounding channels and two additional recording channels for echo strength and overview recording, the systems can be used for precise determination of sediment and silt conditions depending on type of transducer.... Atlas of Southern Ocean Marine Life

Leading marine geoscientists, biologists and oceanographers from all over the world, have spent the last four years compiling everything they know about marine life in the Southern Ocean and the environments that support this marine life. The Biogeographic Atlas of the Southern Ocean, published by the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research, includes around 100 colour photos and 800 maps, providing a wide range of information from the dynamics of the surface waters, and distribution of sea ice, through to the shape and composition of the seafloor. Atlas Receives Order From Spanish Marine Research Institute

Atlas Hydrographic has been awarded a contract by the Spanish Consejo Superior De Investigaciones (CSIC) for the delivery, installation and training of a high resolution multi beam system for the new research vessel B/O Sarmiento De Gamboa. Airbus Sells Remaining Shares in Atlas Elektronik to Thyssenkrupp

Airbus Defence and Space has entered into an agreement to sell its 49 percent share in Atlas Elektronik Group to Thyssenkrupp AG based in Essen, Germany. With this acquisition, Thyssenkrupp, which to date has held a 51 percent share in the company, will become the sole owner of Atlas Elektronik. The sale of its shares in Atlas Elektronik, a supplier of maritime technology, is part of Airbus Defence and Space’s divestment program which will allow it to focus on its core business.
