Laser-Scan Support for UKHO

Laser-Scan has signed a contract with the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO), Ministry of Defence, for the support and maintenance of key operational production systems. The contract provides the UKHO with continued maintenance for two years to support chart production systems covering 3,300 charts. This includes both the Standard Navigational charts in paper form, and raster as the Admiralty Raster Chart Service (ARCS). The arrangement incorporates a Site Licence that will allow the UKHO to flexibly deploy and extend their existing application licences to meet developing operational scenarios. US Navy Takes Delivery Of Full Mission Simulators

The US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, has installed a Kongsberg Maritime 'Version 2' Full Mission Shiphandling Simulator based on Polaris ship simulation software. In addition, two Polaris Bridge Simulators were delivered to US Naval bases in Yokosuka and Sasebo, Japan. Familiarisation training can be conducted in the eLearning lab, part task exercises can be carried out on the Polaris desktop systems, and the Polaris Full Mission Simulator can be used for bridge team training. Transas Data to Be Supplied by Chartworld to SevenCs OEMs

Transas and SevenCs are announcing that they have signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement is based on the implementation of the Transas chart toolkit into the SevenCs EC2007 ECDIS Kernel Software. So SevenCs Kernel user will have full access to the complete Transas World database in TX 97 format in addition to the other already embedded data formats. The chart distribution will be carried out by ChartWorld, a SevenCs owned company, and by all Transas companies worldwide. Enriched AIS for ports and offshore installations

GeoSoft Solutions has added and updated modules available with its AIS (Automatic Identification System) viewer and analysis application, ChartViewAIS. The PC based application provides a live graphical display of AIS targets on to a spatial chart background, by simply interfacing with an AIS acquisition unit. EIVA A/S to go Digital

EIVA A/S has announced that they have embarked on the integration of digital video equipment with their survey software packages. NETmc Marine will supply the digital video equipment. The integration will allow full control and management over NETmc Marines DVR Pro series of data recorders from EIVA’s NaviPac and NaviScan software packages. This will make the EIVA range of software able to provide integrated navigation and full ROV sensor integration available in the one database. IACMST Publishes UK Research Cruise Information

IACMST’s Marine Environmental Data Network has updated its searchable database of information about measurements taken on over 6200 cruises carried out by UK scientists worldwide from 1960 to the present. Norcontrol IT Wins UK AIS Network Contract

The Maritime & Coastguard Agency has awarded Norcontrol IT a contract for the UK AIS Network. This announcement follows Norcontrol IT's involvement in a successful AIS network trial that took place during 2003/2004, with the goal of testing hardware and software components prior to the full installation of the UK AIS network. Norcontrol IT recently released the third generation of its AIS network infrastructure software, which will form the basis of the UK AIS network.
