The Australasian Hydrographic Society offers an Annual Education Award of AUD2,500 (USD2391). The award is open to students studying or researching in any maritime discipline. UKHO Scoops Education Award

The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) has been rewarded by education and business leaders for supporting a reading programme for primary school pupils. The UKHO was nominated for recognition in the 2009 Somerset Education Business Awards by Halcon Community Primary School for the significant contribution made by staff to the Right to Read Scheme over the last three years.   The Right to Read Scheme is a project to promote the importance of literacy and seeks to engage volunteers from businesses to become reading partners with children aged 5-11 years old.   Since 2006 a dedicated group of UKHO volunteers... THSOA Stimulates Scientific Education

The Hydrographic Society of America donated USD5,000 to Holbrook Elementary in the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD district in order to help further education in the Math & Science Department.   Doing so, according to Houston Chapter Chairman Rick Hagen THSOA gives something back to the community as this school not only deserved but needed this donation the most.   In 2007, according to the Houston Chronicle, there were 846 students enrolled at Holbrook.  57.3% are Hispanic, 29.7% are African-American, 10.3% are Caucasian, 2.6% are Asian and 0.1% are Native American.
