Real-time Validation of CoVadem Derived Water Depths

By Using Locations with a Fixated Riverbed
CoVadem has created an up-to-date depth chart of inland waterways. The underlying data obtained came from vessels participating in the CoVadem initiative, each sharing their sensor data in the CoVadem cloud-based processing environment. To make sure the underlying data is both accurate and reliable, we need a method that automatically filters out erroneous measurements. This article presents a method in which measurements are compared in real-time at locations with a fixated riverbed (e.g. not eroding or aggrading over time). Tool Estimates Streamflow for Pennsylvanian Waterways

Water resource managers in the US can estimate daily baseline streamflows in a matter of minutes for any location along Pennsylvania's waterways. The Baseline Streamflow Estimator, called 'BaSE', provides users with estimated daily mean streamflow, minimally altered by human activities, for locations on Pennsylvanian streams that do not have stream gauges. Pennsylvania is one of the first states in the US to have such a tool. Dynamic Streamflow Forecasts for Australia

The Bureau of Meteorology, Australia, has developed dynamic streamflow forecasts under the Improving Water Information Programme. This service will provide streamflow forecasts for one-month and three-month periods at 38 locations throughout Australia. This is the first time that monthly streamflow forecasts will be issued through the registered user service. Dynamic streamflow forecasts will provide complementary information to assist with a range of decisions related to river and reservoir management and operations, irrigation supply, water supply and environmental flows. McMurdo has launched its FAST FIND Satellite Personal Location Beacon (PLB) range, a compact and waterproof 406 MHz emergency location beacon. FAST FIND weighs 150g, with dimensions of 34mm x 47mm x 106mm and can be used in most remote locations around the world. Metocean Support for Oil Field Developments

BMT ARGOSS (BMT), UK, has completed an assessment of metocean conditions to support Energean’s Prinos and Epsilon oil field developments in the Gulf of Kavala. Located in the Prinos-Kavala basin, situated northwest of the island of Thassos and some 18km south of mainland northern Greece, the Prinos oil field is the main structure, with Epsilon being a satellite field. Floating Tidal Energy Platform to be Installed near Texel

A group of Dutch offshore companies including Bluewater, Damen and Van Oord have joined forces to realise a floating tidal energy platform which will be moored near Texel in the Waddenzee and generate clean tidal electricity. Double Contract for Total Indonesia

Metocean Services International Pty Ltd (MSI) has secured two contracts for Total Indonesia (Total) through its Indonesia partners, PT Pageo Utama (Pageo).
