Survey and Positioning Contract

DOF Subsea UK has entered into a long term agreement with Heerema Marine Contractors Nederland BV (HMC) to provide survey and positioning services onboard its deepwater construction vessels. The agreement covers a worldwide scope, but the current focus is on projects which are already underway in the Gulf of Mexico and West Africa. The original UKOOA Guidelines for the use of differential GPS in offshore surveying, published in 1994, were widely used within the offshore survey industry. In 2005, the International Oil & Gas Producers Association (OGP) took over the custodianship of the guidelines from Oil & Gas UK (formerly UKOOA). Positioning Contract for Veripos

Allseas, UK, has awarded Veripos (UK) a further three-year contract for continuing provision of specialist GNSS positioning services for its entire fleet of vessels headed by the world's largest pipelaying vessel, the 300m Solitaire. Other vessels concerned include companion DP pipelayers Audacia and Lorelay in addition to the DP trenching support and subsea installation vessel, Calamity Jane, the anchored pipelay barge, Tog Mor, and the ROSVs Highland Fortress, Highland Navigator and Highland Rover. Geolab Positioning Contract

Veripos has been awarded a further three-year contract by Naples-based GeoLab Srl, one of Europe's leading turnkey offshore survey and construction support organisations, for provision of high-precision GNSS positioning services. Community-sourced Positioning Project

The TeamSurv consortium offers sailors and powered boaters the opportunity to join a community that collects and shares depth information recorded by vessels' existing depth sounder equipment. Depth data, along with the vessel's position, are automatically logged and stored in real time, either by a software utility running on a Windows PC or using a dedicated hardware logging device. Ground-based Regional GNSS Augmentation
Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) like GPS, GLONASS and, soon, Galileo are used for many positioning and navigation applications. But existing GNSS accuracy and reliability do not satisfy all clients. Trident Offshore have commissioned Veripos to provide a full range of precision GNSS positioning services and associated support under an exclusive five-year global contract.
