Software Contract

Schlumberger has signed an agreement with Hess Corporation to provide geological, geophysical, reservoir engineering, economics, drilling, and production software. The agreement also includes data management services and enhanced application and workflow support for Hess worldwide.   Under the agreement, Hess will deploy GeoFrame reservoir characterisation, Petrel seismic to simulation, ECLIPSE reservoir simulation, Merak project economics, as well as OFM and Drilling Office softwares.   (read more)

HYPACK 2008 Survey Software

On 15 February 2008, HYPACK officially released HYPACK 2008. This release represents almost a year of improvements to our previous version HYPACK 6.2B. HYPACK 2008 consists of a complete surveying package for acquiring and processing bathymetry, ADCP, magnetometer, side scan sonar, and sub-bottom data, and charting tools for S-57 production.   Some of the new features in HYPACK 2008 include Point Cloud editing tool, Sub-Bottom Profiling, new 3DTV with waves & sky. CARIS has released HIPS Version 6.0 off-the-shelf bathymetric data cleaning and validation software integrated with powerful vector product creation. Nortek Software Update

New AWAC firmware and software is available at the Nortek website. The latest version includes option for faster download (maximum 1.2 MBaud) and it also includes the SUV data collection scheme. The SUV is a new processing method (patent pending) developed in order to allow directional wave data to be collected from a subsurface buoy. (read more)

New Cross-Platform Software

RBR is introducing a new cross-platform multi-instrument software application, Ruskin, that is the successor to the "RBR Windows" software. Ruskin has been written to enable multiple instrument and dataset support, cross platform operation on PCs, Macs, and Linux computers, and remote network access to instruments.     It lays the foundation for planned enhancements, such as increased data export options, application specific modes for harbour masters and lab technicians, and more detailed analysis tools. Safe Software FME 2006

Continuing its initiative to deliver a complete Spatial ETL solution encompassing both raster and vector support, Safe Software has released FME 2006, that refines the authoring environment of the FME Workbench and incorporates over a thousand user-requested improvements. On the raster front, preview formats have been updated and new ones added. These include support for Oracle GeoRaster, allowing raster data to be loaded into an Oracle Database10gR2. Seismic Interpretation Software

Triton SB-InterpreterTM is the new seismic interpretation software product, designed to simplify and automate the interpretation of high-resolution, shallow seismic data. This product joins Triton SB-LoggerTM, Triton's seismic data acquisition package released last year to round out the comprehensive Triton product line. New Veripos DGPS Software

Veripos introduces VERIFY, a new user-configurable Differential GPS positioning and QC software package for monitoring real-time positioning and quality control information. It can be used in association with its global multi-reference station DGPS services.
