GSDI 15 World Conference Issues Call for Abstracts, Papers and Workshops

The Global Spatial Data Infrastructure (GSDI) 15 World Conference (GSDI 15) will be held in Taipei, Taiwan (Rep. of China), from 29 November to 2 December 2016 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. Workshop opportunities will be offered on 28 November and during the conference itself. The theme of GSDI 15 is “Spatial Enablement in the Smart Homeland”. Abstracts are due by 1 April 2016. Workshop proposals are due by 1 June 2016. Early-bird registration ends on 15 August 2016.

Advanced ICT (information and communications technology), applications for spatial data and a policy of open data, are key to helping people prepare for extreme events and to foster opportunities for public and private sectors to create innovative products and services for Smart City and Smart Territory implementation.

GSDI 15 is jointly organised by the GSDI Association and the Taiwan Association of Disaster Prevention Industry (TADPI), with strong support from Ministry of the Interior. TADPI is a non-profit organisation that facilitates members from the government and private sectors in cross-disciplinary cooperation and risk management and reduction. The ultimate goals of TADPI members are to provide turnkey solutions for disaster prevention and management to create smart, resilient and sustainable cities worldwide.

GSDI 15 offers numerous opportunities for oral presentations, posters, and refereed publications, including a conference book and a special issue of the International Journal of SDI Research. The GSDI 15 Conference Organising Committee invites abstracts and papers covering the full range of practice, development and research experiences that advance the practice and theory of spatially enabling citizens, government, and industry.
