Biography

Dr Walter Geibert is a geoscientist who uses natural radioactivity to study the timescales of chemical, physical and biological processes in the ocean. He studied in Trier and Bremen, followed by positions as a researcher at the University of Edinburgh, the Scottish Association for Marine Science in Oban, and the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, Germany, where he is now a senior scientist.
