Atlas Maridan has in-depth knowledge of AUVdesign, development, manufacturing, training, support and maintenance under anAtlas Elektronik GmbH umbrella. Atlas Maridan ApS operates as a competencecenter for navigation systems for underwater vehicles, integration of payloadinstruments and data fusion into navigation and mission management as well assales and support facility for the commercial market.

 

Atlas Maridan can trace its history back to1992 when the idea of an autonomous underwater robot was conceived as part ofan EU project. Since the inception of the company, the sole focus has been theconstruction of a flexible carrier (hull), development of world-class navigation,seamless operation through tightly integrated mission management system andstraight forward survey management.

 

Atlas Maridan is 100% owned by AtlasElektronik GmbH, a joint company of ThyssenKrupp and EADS.

 

SeaOtter MK II AUV (Autonomous UnderwaterVehicle)

The SeaOtter Mk II is built on the legacyof the SeaOtter Mk I vehicle, which remains in operation around the world. TheSeaOtter is characterized by the flexibility of the design, which allowsvirtually any payload component to be connected to the system. Furthermore, theSeaOtter is equipped with a high performance navigation solution built on AtlasMaridan’s AINS kernel.

 

The flexible payload section contains - instandard configuration - room for 160 kg / 0,7 m3 of payload – among the payloadintegrated can be;

 

• Side scan sonar
• Sub Bottom Profiler
• 3D sub bottom
• Multibeam echosounder
• Sampling equipment for water and/or seabed
• ADCPs
• Camera – Digital and still
• Magnetometer
• And several other types of instruments, the combination and type of instruments is user-defined and can be purposely integrated to fit mission profiles.
