To ensure that it keeps its readers up to date with professional developments in all areas of hydrography Hydro International has formed partnerships with several relevant international professional organisations. These are invited to share their news with readers in each issue of Hydro International.

The International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) is an intergovernmental consultative and technical organisation that was established in 1921 to support safety of navigation and the protection of the marine environment. The Organization aims to bring about the coordination of the activities of national hydrographic offices; the greatest possible uniformity in nautical charts and documents; the adoption of reliable and efficient methods of carrying out and exploiting hydrographic surveys and the development of the sciences in the field of hydrography and the techniques employed in descriptive oceanography.

The International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) is an international non-governmental organisation whose purpose it is to support international collaboration for progress in surveying in all fields and applications. FIG was founded in Paris in 1878. FIG presents news, stories and other information on a dedicated FIG Page in Hydro International.
