FDIS for ECS Approved
The Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) for the ECS database Ð ISO 19379 Ð has been approved by an NECSA international vote of thirteen countries. The FDIS version of the standard was approved by China, Cuba, Germany, Italy, Japan, DPR Korea, Republic of Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Russian Federation, Slovakia, United Kingdom and the United States. The ten Participating members of ISO Committee TC 8/SC 6 voted unanimously in favour of the standard. Work on this standard began in December 1998. Once editorial corrections have been made it will be released as an International Standard by ISO Headquarters in Geneva. The new standard will assure the quality, accuracy, content and updating of ECS chart displays.
