AC12 Carrier Phase OEM GPS Receiver Sets Performance Standard

Thales Navigation announced the worldwide availability of the AC12 12-channel OEM GPS receiver, which offers a variety of customers a powerful combination of carrier phase accuracy, low power consumption and WAAS capability in a compact, value-driven board. AC12 is the only OEM GPS board in its price category to provide accuracy to three meters through SBAS (WAAS/EGNOS/MSAS), one-meter DGPS accuracy using local corrections and three-millimeter carrier phase accuracy (RMS).
Ideal for a variety of applications, AC12 offers significant benefits in land and marine navigation, asset and field workforce tracking, deformation monitoring, relative navigation, heading and attitude determination, military, automotive and other applications where ease of integration and cost are essential. AC12 is also well suited for agriculture, GIS and mapping, and provides a flexible GPS solution at a fraction of the cost of competitive solutions.
The AC12 provides raw data output with carrier phase measurements, allowing integrators to apply their choice of carrier smoothing algorithms to improve positioning accuracy and also perform carrier phase differential. Integrators can choose to apply the accuracy they require for their respective application.
The AC12 is compatible with the antennas of most manufacturers so integrators can choose from a wide variety of sources and shapes. It is convenient for integrators because of its low power consumption, and is NMEA 0183 compliant, which makes it compatible with many other applications.
It consumes only 0.23 watts at 3.3VDC compared to the nearest competitive product, which uses 0.5 watts. It only requires 3.3 to 5 volt input power, and can use either active or passive antennas for even more efficient power management.
