AMSI Joins Society of Maritime Industries

The Association of Marine Scientific Industries (AMSI) has decided to join the Society of Maritime Industries as one of its constituent associations.
following a ballot of their members the overwhelming majority voted in favour of AMSI transferring into the Society of Maritime Industries (SMI).
The Society of Maritime Industries is the voice of the UK’s maritime business sector. It promotes and supports suppliers of equipment and services for all types of commercial and naval ships, ports and terminal infrastructure, offshore oil and gas, pollution prevention, control and clean up and now marine science and technology.
The main aims of the society are:

  • To promote and support the domestic and export business of UK companies
  • To improve the UK and European business environment for maritime industries
  • To facilitate communication and networking in the maritime industries
  • To provide marketing and other services to companies in the Society of Maritime Industries

These aims are delivered through the Society of Maritime Industries five constituent associations, British Maritime Equipment Association (BMEA), British Naval Equipment Association (BNEA), British Oil Spill Control Association (BOSCA), Association of British Offshore Industries (ABOI) and the Ports and Terminals Group (PTG).
