AUV Continues Search for MH370

Phoenix International personnel aboard Australian Defence Vessel (ADV) Ocean Shield resumed the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 with the Phoenix Artemis Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) System. Artemis (a Bluefin 21 AUV) is conducting sidescan sonar surveys in depths up to 4,500 metres of seawater (msw) following the Towed Pinger Locator (TPL-25) search.

Phoenix is part of a multinational team from 26 countries assisting in the search for the lost aircraft. Phoenix is supporting the U.S. Navy’s participation in this effort under its multi-year Undersea Operations contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command’s Office of the Supervisor of Salvage and Diving.
