Bathymetric Science Day Call For Papers

The IHO/IOC Guiding Committee for the General bathymetric Charts of the Oceans (GEBCO) meets in conjucntion with the IOC Consultative Group on Ocean Mapping (CGOM) on 14-23 June 2006 in Bremerhaven (D). The 22nd meeting of the GEBCO Sub-Committee on Digital Bathymetry (SCDB) will take place 14-16 June in the German Maritime Museum. On 15 June, a Bathymetric Science Day is planned. Contributed oral or poster papers on any topic related to ocean floor mapping and its applications are sought. No previous knowledge of, or involvement in, GEBCO is required. Topics may include: Data Management and Exchange, Data Mining and Quality Control, Hazardous heterogeneous data, Challenges at the Shoreline, Applications and Application-driven mapping and Education, outreach and public service. All contributions will be featured on the Agenda and in the Minutes and a special issue of a peer-reviewed journal may follow. Contributions may be submitted through the meeting web page. Presenting authors should register for the meeting and make their hotel arrangements as instructed via the web page.
