The sole hydrographic association in Canada, the CHA is a non-profit scientific and technical body with more than 180 individual and corporate members. Based in Burlington, Ontario and with six other branches in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Québec and Nova Scotia, its principal aims include advancing professional development of hydrography, marine cartography and associated activities throughout Canada and abroad. It is formally affiliated to the Canadian Institute of Geomatics and also cooperates with the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors on hydrographic issues.
